Just got off the phone with the builder. *phew* Apparently he wasn't in the Caribbean - he was in Scottsdale. Ha! He has not absconded with our deposit but was just taking a mental health break. Unfortunately, he didn't take into consideration our mental health before deciding to disappear without a word. Oh well - what's done is done.
Anyway, he reiterated that they would be sending us some pretty detailed drawings over the weekend, so hopefully I will have a fun update by early next week.

the kitchen cabinets are very sharp with the lighter color counter top. Uncle Erik suggested you get a porcelain tile for kitchen that looks like slate - highly recommends the porcelain tile product over a natural slate product. If Jeff wants to see hardwood floors in person, barb & erik have darker hardwood floors (but not too dark or it really shows dust & cat hairs) upstairs in bedrooms vs. the golden brown in family room. I like the built in in the dining room, but the white finish looks kind of "cottage" style vs. "victorian" to me - keep same finish as in kitchen? (although maybe you are just showing style, not color, on your blog - doesn't say)the cabinet makers have some neat glass panels for doors now. Aunt Kris also suggested that "tin" style on the backsplash, less grout to clean and a neat effect that would tie into the victorian theme as well - have seen it on HGTV.
